The Joy Library Committee is charged with maintaining a precious jewel - a collection of several hundred books of special interest to Unitarian Universalists. The subjects are concentrated in subjects ranging from World Religions to UU history, with quite a few in between.
The committee, although inactive during the construction of the new addition, normally selects new volumes to be added, purchases them, and accepts donations. Then there is the "processing" in of new books: recording them in our database, and stamping and sticking on all the items that library books need. We also need to process books back onto the shelves when they are returned, and inevitably, contact borrowers who have not returned books on time.
With a few members on the committee, not much time is required of each person. If you're interested, we can always use new ideas and help with what we now do.
